Getting started

  1. Open Clapiclean and tap Allow Photo Access. Full access lets Clapiclean scan your whole library.
  2. Wait for the first scan. You can keep using your iPhone; a scan you started can continue as a Live Activity.
  3. Open a category (Duplicates, Similar, Screenshots, Large Videos and more), check the suggestions and tap Review & Delete.
  4. Confirm in the iOS dialog. Deleted items go to Recently Deleted in Photos for 30 days.

Clapiclean runs on iPhone and iPad with iOS or iPadOS 26 or later.

Purchases

How do I restore my purchase?

Open Clapiclean → Settings → Restore Purchases, or tap Restore Purchases on the upgrade screen. Use the same Apple Account you bought Clapiclean Pro with.

Does Family Sharing work?

Yes. Clapiclean Pro is a one-time purchase with Family Sharing. Family members open Clapiclean on their device and tap Restore Purchases if Pro is not unlocked automatically.

Is there a subscription?

No. Clapiclean Pro is a one-time purchase. There is nothing to cancel.

How do I get a refund?

Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us, because Apple processes all App Store payments. Request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple Account and choose the purchase. Apple decides on refund requests.

Troubleshooting and questions

I deleted photos, but my free space didn’t go up

Deleted items stay in Recently Deleted in the Photos app for 30 days. The space is only freed once they are removed from there. Open Photos → Albums → Recently Deleted and delete them for good, or wait 30 days.

Why are some sizes shown with “≈”?

On iOS 26, iOS does not report exact file sizes, so Clapiclean shows estimates. On iOS 27 and later, sizes are exact.

Clapiclean only sees some of my photos

You granted limited photo access. Clapiclean only scans the photos you selected. Use “Select More” or “Allow Full Access” in the banner, or change access in Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos → Clapiclean. If access is blocked, check Screen Time restrictions.

“Not analysed (in iCloud)”

With iCloud Photos and “Optimize Storage”, some photos have no local copy. Clapiclean doesn’t download them while scanning, so it skips them. A full rescan tries them again. For videos stored only in iCloud, tap “Download from iCloud” before playing or compressing.

The scan is slow

On a warm device or in Low Power Mode, Clapiclean slows down to keep your iPhone cool. You can pause or stop a scan; if the app is closed, it resumes from its last checkpoint next time.

Why wasn’t a photo pre-selected?

Edited photos are never pre-selected. Favourites and photos in albums are protected by default (you can change this in Settings). You can still select any item by hand. The Sensitivity setting (Strict, Normal, Loose) controls how similar photos must be.

What happens when I compress a video?

Clapiclean creates a new, smaller copy that keeps the date, location, favourite flag and albums; edits are applied to the copy. If the saving would be under 20 %, it shows “Not worth it”. The original stays until you tap “Delete Original” or “Keep Both”.

What are the free limits?

Removing exact duplicates is always free. Other removals are limited to 50 items per day (reset at midnight), and you can compress 3 videos in total. Clapiclean Pro removes these limits.
