What Clapipaste stores and where
- Clipboard history. The items you copy (text, links, code, colors, images, screenshots and files) are stored only on your Mac, inside the app’s sandboxed container.
- Text recognition. Recognizing text in images and screenshots (OCR) runs entirely on your Mac using Apple’s Vision framework. Nothing is sent anywhere for this.
- Sensitive content. Clapipaste skips items that password managers mark as concealed and ignores password managers by default. It detects content such as private keys, API tokens, card numbers, IBANs and generated passwords, blurs it, excludes it from search and deletes it after a time you can configure.
- Notifications. Clip reminders are local notifications created on your Mac.
Optional iCloud Sync
iCloud Sync is off by default. If you turn it on, your clips are stored in your own private iCloud database (Apple CloudKit) so they can appear on your other Macs. This storage is provided by Apple and governed by Apple’s privacy policy. Clapilot cannot access your private iCloud database.
Optional macOS permissions
Clapipaste can ask for the following macOS permissions. Each one is optional, used only for the named feature, and never used to send data anywhere.
Accessibility
To paste into the active app and to expand inline shortcuts.
Input Monitoring
To detect typed ;keyword inline shortcuts. Keystrokes are only compared locally against your own keywords and are not stored.
Screen Recording
For Text Capture. Only the area you select is captured, processed on your Mac and then discarded.
You can grant or revoke these permissions at any time in System Settings → Privacy & Security.
Deleting your data
- Delete individual clips in the app.
- Delete your history in Settings → General → Clear History.
- Deleting the app removes its data from your Mac.
- If you use iCloud Sync, you can remove synced data in your iCloud settings.
Children
Clapipaste is not directed at children.
